Breathe better, live better. Using eolic energy, Life Vortex seeks to improve the quality of life of the elderly that are affected by cuts in the electricity service.
PROJECT CONTEXT
USER AND CLIENT PROFILE
RESEARCH ABOUT OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR
Deep research about oxygen concentrators, their requirements and ways of use, cautions and ways the user currently solves the problem of electricity interruptions. On this last item, it was found that the most frequent solution are oxygen cylinders.
FUNCTIONAL EXAMPLE
Tornado Like, by Western Co.
Italian wind turbine without blades, reducing landscape impact and risks for birds. It has a height of only 3 meters, compared to the 70 meters of traditional wind turbines.
PRODUCT SKETCHES
Alternatives for the wind turbine, doing formal explorations and creating the concept of vortex. In this stage there is also a research about technological components in this type of product, such as batteries and inverter.
OXYGEN CYLINDER VS.
Cost of an oxygen cylinder: from COP$250.000 to COP$1.300.000
Duration: maximum 24 hours.
It is necessary to charge the cylinder once the supply runs out.

Power 700 W= 0,7 kW/H
0,7 kW/h* COP$540,9089¹= COP$378,63623
COP$378,63623* 16h= COP$6.058,1796 (daily)
COP$6.058,1796* 30d= COP$181.745,38 (monthly)
LIFE VORTEX
Taking into account the low speed of the air currents in the municipality, an alternative that does not require of the strenght of wind or blades is seeked. Therefore, this wind turbine is based on the principle of tornado generation, where a current of hot air, coming from the lower part, meets with a cold air current.
In the product, hot air is captured by a metal plate. It goes up to meet cold air, which is captured and conditioned inside the wind turbin. This way, a tornado is generated, which causes the internal mechanisms to function, generating energy to power the oxygen concentrator.
